Holly (American or Nellie Stevens)

The holly is a proven performer and nearly indestructible. They are a great screen and provide color in the winter with not only green leaves but red berries (birds love them). The female variety produces the berries, and for every 3-6 females, a male will need to be planted for pollination.

20 to 30 feet by 8 to 10 feet

Location

Full sun or mostly sun - a hedge should be spaced 5-7' apart.
